automated the channel faders for the detail volume work, I would lose the ability to conveniently check and set the faders after the fact. Now, if I used the default volume envelope for this sort of detailed automation, i.e. Attenuate a hit here, add a bit of level there, accent this part of a phrase, pull back on this one, you get the idea basically, some tracks have quite detailed volume envelopes. I usually have quite a lot of volume automation in a project, and some elements might have it abundantly. I like having the channel faders free from automation to see/set the relative levels of all channels when ever I feel like it. If you mean my Mixtool use (instead of the procedure described by the original poster), let me explain why I prefer it this way Rock Johnson wrote:wouldn't fader automation be simpler and faster?
